BACKGROUND INFO: After approximately two weeks of hearings, Texas administrative law judges articulated multiple failures by the White Stallion Energy Center in its application for an air pollution permit for its proposed coal plant in Bay City. Concerned about the potential for increased air pollution and the resultant respiratory illnesses, heart disease, and early mortality, the No Coal Coalition prepares to travel to Austin for the TCEQ hearing on Wednesday. The Commissioners agenda is set to begin at 9:30 am when the decision will be made. We call on the Commissioners to deny the permit, and will hold a reactionay press event immediately following the decision.
