Have Fun on Earth Day: Support Austin Businesses & Your Favorite Green Groups!

Earth Day is almost here, and Austinites can celebrate it right during the second annual Give Five Percent Back to Mother Earth Event.  As a way of paying tribute to the mother earth, various businesses throughout Austin are committing 5% of gross sales on Earth Day to environmental non-profit organizations who dedicate time and energy to preserve the wellbeing of our planet.  The Sierra Club is just one of six beneficiaries, which include Hill Country Conservancy, Friends of Barton Springs Pool, Texas Land Conservancy, Tree Folks, and Clean Water Fund.

To show support for Earth Day, Friday April 22, Austinites are encouraged to eat and shop at these local businesses where 5% of purchases will go to the listed regional non-profits.  Amy’s Ice Cream, Alamo Draft House, Wheatsville Co-op, and Book People are among the 43 businesses who have joined together in this campaign.  So make it a point to have fun this Earth Day– go out to support our local businesses and make a significant impact!  For more information concerning the event including the list participating businesses, please visit the site!
