Earth Day Essay Contest for Austin High Schoolers

Know a high school student in the Austin area?

Austin Physicians for Social Responsibility is holding an essay contest this year for Earth Day. Interested students should submit an essay of 500 words or fewer answering the below question and a cover sheet with contact information, school, and grade to austinpsr@gmail.com by March 21st. There will be $750 in total prizes awarded. For more information go to austinpsr.org.

Although environmental health risks are often thought to be due to exposure to toxic substances and natural or man-made disasters, they occur frequently in everyday life– in homes, in schools, in water supplies, at food markets, and in restaurants.

What does this mean for keeping Texans healthy?
