GoGreen Conference 2012

If you’ve been around downtown over the past weekend you may have noticed the large GoGreen banners above many of the main intersections. These vibrant signs are advertising the GoGreen Conference 2012 right here in the city of Austin, an all day event put on by various local, state-wide, and national sponsors.

The one-day conference “is designed to educate, motivate and inspire business owner and leaders – to take your green quotient to the next level and to put your business on a sustainable path” (GoGreen). Some large sponsors of this year’s conference include The City of Austin, The Austin Business Journal, Yelp, and CAR2GO. Speakers on the day are Evan Smith, the Editor-in-Chief of the Texas Tribune, Jose Baceiro, the Director of Clean Energy for the Austin Chamber of Commerce, and Jim Walker, the Director of Sustainability at U.T. Austin just to name a few. The conference is designed for business professionals with interest in making their companies more eco-friendly but is open to all that would like to attend.

This seems to be an interesting and promising event that will hopefully open many doors in terms of increased sustainability measures in and around our city.

The event will take place Wednesday, April 4th, 2012 from 8:30 AM-5:30 PM at the Austin Music Hall.
